Cash accounts Where the money sits (bank, cash, Stripe account type, and similar)
Income and expenses What happened (income / expense records; may have an open amount)
Receipts and payments How money moves in or out (linked to a record; can go through a company account / shareholder / employee)

Suggested order

  1. Create cash accounts first.
  2. Register income and expense records.
  3. Use receipts and payments to settle or apply records (when a company account must move).
  4. Check balance changes in account entries. Use transfers to move money between accounts.

Company assets and shareholders have their own registers and can link to records / entries. See the matching feature guides.
