Concepts: Document Space vs. Document Tree
Audience: Front-end end-users
Enterprise Document Space (File Repository)
- Scope: Isolated by the current project (tenant); not shared with other projects.
- Format: Accessed via "More" (top-right corner) → Enterprise Documents, which slides out a panel from the right side (approximately one column wide).
- Content: Folders and files; supports local uploads, URLs, and creating new Markdown/text files, as well as online editing, downloading, and deleting for editable file types.
- AI Integration: When opened during a conversation with an AI agent, files can be "added to the session" as references; the "Add to Session" option generally does not appear when opened from standard project management pages.
Document Tree (Document Management)
- Scope: Also belongs to the current project, but uses a data model of "Document Project → Tree Nodes (Directories/Files)."
- Format: Accessed via the Document Management sidebar item; select a document project to view its tree structure.
- File Nodes: Supports external URLs or attaching locally uploaded files to the tree.
- Use Cases: Ideal for structured knowledge directories, manual outlines, or hierarchical resource indexes; can coexist with the file repository but represents a distinct list.
